Inside it is much more attractive, the Cafe area consists of a couple of large wooden tables and a few smaller ones, surrounded by shelves of Italian Wine and cabinets full of wonderful meats and cheese.
The menu is quite small, mainly Italian sandwiches, cheese and meat boards and salads, but everything looks really good.
My breakfast was just a simple ham and cheese tostado, served with a really good cup of coffee.
It’s always good to find an alternative to the ubiquitous Starbucks and Cafe Nero coffee shops.
UPDATE : January 2011, returned for coffee and cake, had a piece of strawberry and pannacotta cheese cake, and another cup of their great coffee.

London may be full of Italian restaurants, but finding one that serves up real Italian food can be hard.
In Pimlico, you’ll find an authentic piece of Italy in the form of Gastronomica, a charming Italian cafe on Tachbrook Street.
Here, artisan produce such as ham, cheese, wine and coffee is directly imported from Italy from small rural producers for the truest taste, and you’ll find everything from Italian breakfasts to light snacks and regional specialities like tagliatelle al ragù and melanzane alla parmigiana on the menu.
With its traditional decor and cosy atmosphere, Gastronomica is winning over the hearts of the Italian cuisine lovers of London, open early ‘till late, every day of the week.

This Pimlico branch of the mini-chain - there's another on Brick Lane and one in the City - brings an Argentinian cantina vibe to Vauxhall Bridge Road.
Expect South American street-food, Argentinian steaks, house cocktails and beers sunk in the spacious garden come summertime.
The food menu features a range of dishes popular in Argentina, with empanadas, sweetbreads and chimichurri olives alongside lomito sandwiches, steaks and chorizo 'criolla' - Argentinian chorizo served with roasted peppers and grilled onions.
There's an Argentinian slant to the wines on offer, though Spain, Chile and Italy get a look in too.
Keep an eye out for house cocktails too, such as the ‘Sweet Moo’ with vanilla vodka, rum and dulce de leche.
